Access Statement
We welcome people with disabilities and have developed this Access Statement to address some of the more common issues that disabled people face and provide additional information for all guests who wish to attend the Hall or use its facilities.
Recognition has been given to include guests with an impairment, which could include mobility, sight, hearing, learning disabilities or any other hidden impairment. We request that anyone wishing to make an enquiry or booking inform us of any special needs or disabilities that they may have in order for us to try and meet any personal requirements.
Assistance dogs are very welcome at the hall.
Masonic Hall Ipswich has ground level access via a ramp to the rear of the building. This is available on request via the front door communication system. In addition, there is blue badge parking situated in front of the building.
Whilst we strive to make the hall accessible to all visitors, this is a historic building and hence there are some areas where wheelchair access is restricted. Most ground floor areas, including the Dining Room and Bar are accessible to wheelchair users, whilst the upper floors including the temple room are accessible by a lift. All door way and openings are wheelchair friendly.
A disabled toilet is available on the ground floor. This is fitted with a RADAR lock to ensure it is available for disabled users at all times. It is assumed all disabled users will have their own RADAR key (available from the Blue Badge Co), however a loan key will be held by the bar staff.
For those with impaired hearing a hearing induction loop is fitted in the main temple and the dining room. Hearing aid users should switch to the ‘T’ setting to activate.
